Apply automatic tax rate based on country onto quote
Has anyone had any luck with natively applying automatic tax rate based on the country onto the quote using API? For example, deal is in AUD currency so the quote automatically has the GST applied and any other discounts can be applied separately.
Line by line is cumbersome for the team as there are often multiple products on the quote. We often have quotes with discounts as well so we need to be able to apply the tax and the discount but don't want to rely on sales people to input the tax.
This is one of the few features we require, we have looked into the quote integration tools but they have many features we don't need and hope to apply the features we want natively.

Currently, HubSpot doesn't natively support automatic tax rates on quotes based on location. However, you could use a custom workflow to preset taxes based on location properties or integrate with an external tax API to calculate and apply taxes automatically.
Custom quote templates are also an option if you're open to a bit of development work.

Sorry @PamCotton , but the problem for us is that we don't know the contact until they fill out the payment link. There is nowhere to store the information before the payment link is used.

Hey Pam—we got this working with custom coded actions. But here's the challenge. The tax rates aren't applied to the associated line items until after the quote is out of draft mode and has been published. So what we're left with is a quote that has tax rates applied on the back end, but not the public facing URL that was generated when the quote was built originally. These tax rates don't get applied unless you recall and edit the quote again in order to have the automated tax rates that were applied via the workflow correctly associated. Is there a way to inject updates to line items during the quote creation process that you know of?
