Managing invoices just got easier! We’re excited to announce the release of Automated Email Reminders for Invoices, now live for Commerce merchants. This feature empowers you to set up email reminders for customers with unpaid invoices, ensuring timely payments and reducing the need for manual follow-ups.
What Is It? Automated email reminders allow Commerce merchants to send scheduled email nudges to customers with outstanding invoices. These reminders can be sent:
Before the due date
On the due date
After the due date
This feature is available to users connected to HubSpot Payments or Stripe.
Why Does It Matter? For merchants relying on HubSpot invoices, manually tracking overdue payments and sending follow-ups can be time-consuming and frustrating. With automated reminders:
Save time: Eliminate manual follow-ups.
Ensure timely payments: Keep customers on track with payment deadlines.
How Does It Work? Here’s how to get started with automated invoice reminders:
Enable Automation:
Go to your invoice settings and click on the new Automation tab.
Turn on the toggle for "Send reminders to customers to pay their own invoices".
Set Your Reminder Schedule: The default schedule includes reminders sent:
On the due date
7 days after the due date
14 days after the due date
Customize the schedule to include reminders before, on, or after the due date (up to 5 reminders).
Preview and Save:
Preview your reminder emails to ensure they meet your needs.
Note: Changes to reminder schedules will only apply to future invoices. For existing invoices, reminders are updated if the invoice due date is edited.
Track and Adjust Reminders:
Use the invoice sidebar to view upcoming reminders or navigate to Actions -> Edit reminders to adjust or cancel reminders.
View past sent reminders in the Contact’s activity feed or the invoice preview sidebar under History.
