If I make a task to call company A on 4/6/25. When I log a call on 4/6/25 to company A. Why can I not associate that task with that call? Shouldn't I be able to link/associate my logged call attempt to the task it goes with?
If I can't link calls/meetings/emails to tasks then what is the point of having these separate from tasks.
HubSpot currently does not allow you to directly associate a logged call, email, or meeting to a specific task, even though they may be related and happen on the same record (like a company or contact).
Tasks in HubSpot are not designed as containers for activities, but rather as reminders to complete them. Once you log a call, that’s considered a separate, standalone activity — and there's no native way to "complete a task with" or "attach" an email/call/meeting to it.
Potential workarounds:
Manual workaround: After logging the call, just mark the task as complete and optionally leave a quick note like “Call logged on 4/6/25.”
Use task descriptions: Add context when creating tasks (e.g. “Call Company A to follow up – log the outcome on their record”).
Advanced (Pro/Enterprise): You can use custom properties or workflows to mimic this, but it gets pretty clunky.
