Hello,

When I am calling a company from within HubSpot and it opens the extension it does not seem to be loggin the call on that company but instead searching for a 'contact' instead of the company we are on and if there is no contact then creating a new contact. Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how do I get it to just look at companies not 'contacts' and why is it not logging the call on the account I am on and lastly how do I stop AirCall from creating new contacts all together?

Thank You

Hi @SKeohan,

Yep, this is a common issue with Aircall and HubSpot. Here’s what’s happening and how to resolve it:

Why it’s happening?
Aircall defaults to logging calls under contacts in HubSpot, so when you call a company, it searches for contact first.

If no contact is found, Aircall may automatically create a new one, which is why you’re seeing unexpected new contacts.

Solutions, in Aircall’s settings, configure call logging preferences to associate calls with companies instead of contacts where possible. This might be under the “Call Logging” or “Integration” settings in the Aircall dashboard.

In the Aircall integration settings within HubSpot, you can just look for an option to disable the auto-creation of contacts. This should stop Aircall from creating new contacts when none exist.

If Aircall doesn’t have the flexibility to log calls directly to companies, consider manually associating calls with companies within HubSpot or using a workflow to reassign call associations.

Next steps,
Check both your Aircall and HubSpot integration settings and adjust them to prioritize company associations. If the issue persists, contacting Aircall support for advanced configuration might help.

I hope it helps, let me know if you need to talk!

Hey @SKeohan -- the integration documentation implies that calls can only associate with new or existing contacts. That said, I do see the option for Call > Company syncing, so I recommend reaching out to Aircall to see if their HubSpot integration is capable of this!
