Adding Teams number for outbound calling

Patti_R
Contributor

Hi all,

All of our reps have Teams phone licenses, so all have phone numbers. We would like them to be able to make calls from HubSpot with their Teams number and for calls made to automatically log in the record. Has anyone else done this? When I went to add my number to test it, a box came up that the number can also be ported. I'm wondering how to determine the best option between just the outbound calling versus porting. Anyone have any advice here?

Thanks!

Patti

Hi @Patti_R - sorry for the delay in getting back to you, bank holiday weekend and all!

So the main difference would be that Porting a number involves moving the service provider over to HubSpot and being able to make and receive calls through the platform. If you're just looking to make outbound calls, you should be fine with setting up Outbound Calling.

Hey @Patti_R!

I don't have the means to test this right now as I don't have Teams calling, however would THIS  suit your needs?

Thanks @ScottPennwood ! Appreciate the response. Yeah, I did see that article. I ended up adding my number for outbound calling only and testing it, and it works fine. For the broader team, I'm still unclear of the primary differences and pros/cons between just setting up the outbound calling and porting a number.
