setting up parent , child/student contacts for a school

Hello,

We need to setup the CRM for a private school. They have school admission forms, summer camp forms made in hubspot. The forms have parent information and child's details. Also the school's main admission form has child's info along with parents information to be stored.  

We are confused on how we can best represent this in HubSpot. 

>>Should we create both child and parent as Contacts?

>> OR should we create parent as company and contacts as child / children so that they are internally linked

because the admission forms and all email communication as well as marketing emails will be tarted to a parent email id. The child will be moving through the process as well as they climb grades and finally graduate.

Hi @Hirva,

Without having the full picture and knowing all the requirements, it's hard to give a perfect answer. From a first glance, I'd approach this by using the company object for the family, the contacts for parents and children. Otherwise, it won't be possible to email the parents. (Companies cannot be emailed, only contacs.)

To distinguish parents and children, you could use a property like Contact type with dropdown options 'Parent' or 'Student'.

We have the same set up with Parents and Children as contacts and the family as company.

The challenge we have is with setting up registration forms for parents to fill out. There doesn't seem to be a way to create multipe contacts from a single form so we can only create the parent contact and have them add their children using properties ie Child 1 First Name, Child 2 First Name, Child 3 First Name etc. Then we have to manually create the child contact records ourselves. Is there any way you can see of creating multiple contacts in one form to remove the manual work here?
