I'm brand new to Hubspot and I was wondering what the best method is to put up workflow. I'm a negotiater.
In short these are my stages:
- I have a list of people I need to contact that are owner of a property. These properties need to be bought because the owner is going to be expropriated. For each property I made a deal and I attach the contactperson (owner) to it. Sometimes there are multiple owners for 1 property.
- The lifecycle of subscriber, evangelist and so on doesn't apply for this kind of work I think.
For each deal I need an overview what the stage is of every owner and these are the steps I make right now:
1) a letter is send to their homeaddress with the request to get their person contact details
2) I received their phone number/email
3) I proposed the deal in person, by email or by phone
4) What the viewpoint is of the owner about the deal: positive, rejecting, agrees, signed contract.
When the contactperson signed the contract it ends
So in my viewpoint I would need a pipeline on the contactperson side but also on the dealside.
The deal only happens when ALL owners agree. So if there are 10 owners it's a lot of negotiating. If 5 out of 10 owners agree I would like to see that I'm at 50% or I still need to get 5 owners agreed to getting the deal finished.
A owner will appear again with other deals so the pipeline would start all over.
So could this be done? Having a pipeline for the owner/contactperson on a deal? Or is there better way in doing this?
I'm currently still on the free version of Hubspot.
Hi @airwolfke. I had to "talk through" my thoughts, so here's a 3 minute thought process to hopefully help with your question. Thanks for the tag @kvlschaefer!

thank you very much for the informative video explanation.
I think indeed that solves one part of the puzzle.
But there is a but...
If I change the life cycle status of that contactperson let's say to "agreed"
It's possible that the contactperson be needed in another deal and I will again need his input and status... and the status will be still on 'agreed' so that won't give a realistic viewpoint.
Hey Ruben. Lifecycle stage is indeed meant to be linear, so it will be "agreed" wherever the person is in their journey across multiple deals. But that's good, because you'll know if they're a repeat customer with multiple deals. Deal stages help understand where they are with specific deals, and you can also use the HubSpot property of lead status (new, existing, etc.) for additional segmentations. Here's a resource that further illustrates the idea: Demystifying HubSpot's lifecyle stages, deal stages and lead status. Hoping that helps further!
