adding time to a new deal created by a workflow

resolver

hello,

I have no idea if this is possible, maybe with some code perhapsbut I am very new to all of that.

I have a workflow that duplicates a support deal, when the original has been closed. It copies Amount, Revenue and Deal Revenue. Before I had it set up to add an amount of time to the close date. But its now a very manual process to amend these dates after because the years can be different.

I have created new properties that have exact dates for the support contract (start date and end date) and the amount of time (years) for the contract. The duplicate will copy those dates but I cannot use a property to amend the amount of time for the contract.

Is there a way for me to add that amount of time post duplicated deal rather than setting the same amount of time? Or am I trying to be too clever and I will have to keyboard warrior my way through each one?

Thanks for your help!

Hi @LAllport,

HubSpot calculation properties let you add a duration to an existing date and calculate a new date: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/create-calculation-properties

This would require a new calculation property and – and once calculated, copying the calculated date to the desired field.

Have a look and let me know when you're getting stuck. Happy to help!

@karstenkoehler thank you so much for pointing me towards the calculation properties, it took some testing to check how it was going to work out but happy to report all is good. I made 3 new properties, one for the time between the start and end date properties, then the other two were for the calculations to add the time on.
