One problem I ran into with my latest workflow is that there are emails scheduled to be delayed until a certain date. However, if someone joins the workflow late, I am hopeful that they can bypass some of the messages and enter in where the rest of contacts are... with one exception.
For example this is the workflow I set up:
- Registration Confirmation Email
- Week Until Event Email
- Day Until Event Email
- Hour Until Event Email
If they registered with less than a week until the event, I would want them to recieve the confirmation, but then for the next communication they recieve to be "day until event."
In your workflow, you would send the confirmation email as the first action, then use a delay until a date. When you add that delay, you can check this box:
You'll now have to branches: the left one for contacts who arrive at the branch before the date, the right branch for contacts after the date.
In the left branch, place your one-week-reminder, then continue with the next delay.
In the right branch, use the "Go to action" workflow action to jump right to the next delay, bypassing the email.
It should look something like this:
Best regards!
