Workflow: Add Associated Custom Objects to Tickets

SOLVE

Hello!  Could anyone assist with a workflow to add custom objects to tickets based on association labels?  One of the pipelines my team uses is to add new students to teachers' classes.  I've created a new association label for "Teacher" that associates the Contact record with the ticket.  Contacts who have classes also have custom objects titled "Sections" which include an ID number for each of their classes.  Whenever a Contact is associated with a ticket in this pipeline, I'd like their associated classes or "Sections" to display also.  Thank you!

Thanks! I found a beta version to use workflows for custom object associations. It is not yet activated for me. But looks like there is a solution on the way! https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/manage-crm-record-associations-with-workflows

Piggybacking on this one as I (believe to) want to achieve the same and see no update:

I have two custom objects that are associated to a contact. So when I am on the contact, I see those custom objects on the contact (I believe you call it "cards") so I know the association is enabled. I now wish that the custom object also appears on a ticket when the contact creates one. E.g. tickets are automatically created based on "conversation" (new email to team inbox = new ticket). Just as the company associated to the contact appears as a card on the side, I would like the custom object to appear there. I heard this was possible via workflows but cannot figure out how to implement this.

Hey @MHaas22 -- thanks for adding your use case. If the ticket is being created by the chat bot, then we will not be able to use workflows to add associations. This Knowledge Base article walks you through all the options for using association labels in HubSpot. Unfortunately, workflows cannot make associations for existing objects. If you are creating a ticket through a contact-based workflow, you can select to associate existing associated objects. 

 

Maybe this is something that could be achieved with the API! To our experts, @Bortami@Mike_Eastwood, & @ChristinaKay do y'all think this would be possible to configure with the associations API? (When a ticket is created, associate all custom objects that are associated with the contact to the new ticket too)

Hey @rmalenda! Thanks for your question. 

 

I understand your goal is to associate the custom object Sections with a Contact when they are associated with a Ticket. To clarify, are these Sections already associated with the Tickets and you just want them to also associate with the Contacts? 

 

Please let me know if I did not understand your questions or if you need additional clarification! I am eager to solve this with you.
