Why only 1 Core seat with paid Hubspot but unlimited Core seats with free?

SOLVE

Hello,

I am new to Hubspot and previously in another company I used its Free version where we had an unlimited number of Core Seats (with trial). I now start a new company that uses Starter package and it only has 1 core seat and 1 view only. How does this happen? Should I downgrade back to free version to have more seat if having more seat is my priority?

Thanks

Hi @Ants,

HubSpot is migrating portals to the new seats model – if you previously had access to a portal with (what felt like) unlimited free users, that portal was simply not yet part of the migration.

For all migrated portals or newly created ones, the following applies: https://legal.hubspot.com/hubspot-product-and-services-catalog

HubSpot’s free tools are available as a single free edition (with up to two free users), and they’re also included in every edition of our premium products.

In other words, downgrading will not grant you more seats.

Best regards!

Thanks for your reply. I actually tried it out and it's not quite accurate. In free version, I can add new Super Admins without any limit (at least we have 5 users/admins) however when we use the started package we can only have 1 super admin, and the remaining 4 users are view only.

@Ants the migration of the old to the new model is not happening over night, there are still many portals with many more free users. It's unfortunately not clear cut, but if your portal is among those that have already been migrated, there's no going back as far as I know.
