Why is "Lead Pipeline" a default option on the Create Lead form?

SOLVE

As it stands now, I do not see any way to add multiple lead pipelines, yet the user must click the "Lead Pipeline" dropdown and choose the only option there.  Am I missing something or is there a way to remove that field from the form (or set the default to "Lead Pipeline", which is the only available option)?  I am using Lead Type to indicate what eventual Deal Pipeline this would belong to, so "lead pipeline" is a real head scratcher for my users and it is entirely unecessary to present this dropdown to them in Lead creation.

@JBarmer this is a really good question, which is probably the result of good intentions (like future growth for the lead object to support more than one pipeline) but also doesn't make a lot of sense that you can't set a default and avoid the dropdown.

I did check the Lead form editor to see if it could be removed, but it's part of the object architecture and can't be removed.

I suggest that you add an idea here to share your feedback with the product team directly (you might search first to see if there's an existing idea) - and share the link back here so others who have this question can upvote and add their feedback as well.

@JBarmer it looks like my suspicion was correct, there's a new beta to create multiple pipelines:

[Public Beta] Multiple Lead Pipelines

What is it?

We now support multiple lead pipelines. This allows you to represent discrete qualification motions in Hubspot.

This initial release WILL NOT INCLUDE PIPELINE PERMISSIONs. We expect that to come in a later release before this feature is made generally available.

Why does it matter?

Many organizations have complex qualification processes. Multiple lead pipelines allows admins to accurately map their process to the lead object without compromising on governance or data quality.

How does it work?

1. Navigate to lead settings
2. Click the `select a pipeline` dropdown
3. Select 'Create Pipeline'

Reps can filter their leads to an individual pipeline from the Prospecting Workspace

Who gets it?

Sales Pro, Sales Enterprise
