Where are emails attachments from logged email conversations stored

I still don't know WHERE to find the attachments. They don't seem attached to the email in hubspot.

OK, so attachments for incoming emails are not automatically saved when you log the email? That is a pity since obviously I already have the attachments that I am sending out to people, so the ones I want to save are the incoming ones. That said, neither outgoing nor incoming seem to be saved.

Yeah its a shame and doesn't make any sense...  You should change to Cloze CRM...  you dont have to manually log emails as it automatically tracks and logs them based on your customer email and it will automatically have the attachments in the emails as well.  Amazing platform.

Well I sent an email from gmail to my outlook email WITH an attachment.  I opened the email in outlook and logged it to my contact name and there is no attachment. Maybe there is a setting I have to use? Or maybe its not available in the free version?

@FrancineS Is your Gmail connected to HubSpot? Or your Outlook? 

Whichever is your HubSpot connection is where the attachment is originating, and where HubSpot will log it from. It's logging what you send, not what you receive. If you want to log what a contact sends you, you have to download and attach manually, yes.

I usually select emails and through the hubspot add in, I log them to the contact.  I don't want every single email to be logged - that would be way too overwhelming amount of data and emails to sort through. I only log the emails that have significant information, or attachments. But the attachments don't get logged.

@FrancineS That sounds like a Support question, then. When you click "log email" and add an attachment, it should do just that, including the attachment. I tested it and it's working for me. I would definitely check with Support.

I thought attachments to emails would automatically be saved with the contact when I selected log email. But it seems I have to manually upload the attachments ?

@FrancineS You have to attach/upload them to the email, yes. But when you attach the attachment, it does log it. I've just tested it both from HubSpot natively, and from sending it in Gmail. Both worked. N = natively sent, G = Gmail.

ok I do see attachments on the RIGHT side ( I was looking on the left), however my email attachments are not showing up t here

@FrancineS so what I would do is test it. 

Are you sending attachments from your email client like Gmail or Outlook? You'll want to make sure you're logged into HubSpot and logging/tracking the emails. 

Are you sending them through HubSpot natively? They should appear there. Make sure the "carrot" is open:

Send an attachment and see if it's showing up. It's possible that past emails were not logged.

No I don't see anything called attachments.

@FrancineS you don't see that in the right sidebar of the Contact records? Here's where you can customize the right sidebar of records. You should be able to add Attachments there.

@FrancineS in the contact record, there's an associated object for attachments. Are you seeing this? 

On the right panel of Conversations I do NOT see it, so if you're looking there it may not yet be available. But it's in the Contact records, at least in my experience with HubSpot.
