Where are HS users capturing the name of Event you spoke with customer at?

resolver

So I want to record at what events we spoke to a customer. (tradeshows, conferences)
I can't get it from the original source detail, and it could be inappropriate to attach it to Lead Source or a Lead Source Detail 1, etc. Why? Because the touch at event, say SXSW, might not have been the first touch/source. It might be a prospect we've worked for 4 months. But we want to record that we met them there, so it can be evaluated for lead scoring, for attribution, for determining ROI of event spend, etc.

How are others handling the recording of event names. Keep in mind that for an enterprise customer and long sale, you might record 5+ events you spoke to them at over a year.

Hi @donrua,

In most cases, we track this using a multi-checkbox custom property containing all of the events that the reps/company attended.

Other options:

  •  Each event could have a campaign and they could be on a static list associated with the campaign - this would be ideal for revenue attribution reporting
  • A custom object that associates with the record - this could include more specific details of the event and could be used for reporting

Thanks, Josh. That's what I was thinking, but wondered what others do. I recently added a multi-checkbox for tracking customers that use competitors, since we are a horizontal platform and a customer could use multiple competitors at same time. I was thinking doing the same for Events.

one issue is that I'd like a record of touches at Events, but I also want to know if an Event is part of a new lead we never had before, so I think I'll track the general touch always via multi-select, and the import of our names from Events will have the Event name in the import filename, so that would become part of Original Src Detail 2 I believe, HS out of box functionality.

Thanks again for the multiple ideas.
