What’s the best way to track UTM parameters in HubSpot for campaign performance?

What’s the best way to track UTM parameters in HubSpot for campaign performance?

SOLVE

Hi @Suheb,

 

With the HubSpot tracking code installed, HubSpot will automatically document the original or latest source of contacts:

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/properties/understand-traffic-source-properties

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/understand-hubspots-traffic-sources-in-the-traffic-analytics-t...

 

If you've integrated Google and Meta Ads as per the steps below, this will also populate the source information accordingly:

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/ads/connect-your-google-ads-account-to-hubspot

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/ads/create-facebook-and-linkedin-lead-ads-in-hubspot

 

Another custom option would be to add hidden fields on your form:

  • utm_content
  • utm_campaign
  • utm_term
  • utm_source
  • utm_medium

HubSpot will then automatically capture any parameters present on the submission page: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/forms/pass-contact-property-values-with-hidden-form-fields

 

Keep in mind that your cookie banner (and a lack of accepted cookies) might interfere with all of the above.
