What is the Difference Between "State/Region," "IP State/Region," and "IP StateCode/Region Code"

Hello,

What is the difference between the default HubSpot Contact properties:
"State/Region,"
"IP State/Region," and
"IP StateCode/Region Code?"

I'm displaying a large difference in the number of contacts for each.

Hi @AZistler,

Here's how these fields are defined:

State/Region: the contact's state of residence. This might be set via import, form, or integration.

IP state/region: the state or region reported by the contact's IP address. This is automatically set by HubSpot and can be used for segmentation and reporting.

IP state/region code: the state code or region code reported by the contact's IP address. This is automatically set by HubSpot and can be used for segmentation and reporting.

If there is a discrepancy between State/Region and IP state/region, that might be because IP state/region is automatically reported, State/Region can be edited by users.
