View files in Hubspot actually downloads file

Whenever I click on the View button of a file attachment, it actually downloads the file to my computer.  There is also a Download button.  Is it actually possible to view a file from within Hubspot?

Hi @ArsenalGunner Viewing a file attached to a HubSpot message will open the file in HubSpot file preview window. It shouldn't download, unless you have a browser setting that automatically causes that to happen. This will happen when you open an attachment of any type from a HubSpot contact record.

Thanks.  I notice the viewer works for .pdf files, but not for .docx files.  Should the viewer work for Word docs as well?

Hi @ArsenalGunner  The viewer will not preview a DocX file. It will only show a preview of the file icon.
