User who contacted company and assigned owner is differentSOLVE

Below is the series of events:
1. Company/Contact was imported into Hubspot, No Owner assigned
2. User A sent an email from Gmail to Company/Contact via 3rd party platform (Quickmail), Hubspot BCCed
3. Email activity was logged normally in Company/Contact records, but with name as user C, email as that of user A...
4. Also owner was Not assigned to A, but was instead assigned to another user B
It has happened several times already, and oddly, the assigned owner has always been user B although there are other users to the same Hubspot account.
User A has access to Contacts, Sales and Admin.
User B has access to Contacts and Sales only.
User C has access to superadmin.
Could I understand why this could have happened, and what can be done to prevent this from happening in the future?

Q: Troubleshooting Contact Ownership.
Note: We haven't seen HubSpot email integrations normally assign HubSpot Contact Owners unless the contact is being created (as new).
Sounds like you're either looking for a workflow that's performing a (re-)assignment, or an integration that's doing it. Start by viewing the Contact Owner history for the contact.
