Urgent Feature Request: Enable "#" Snippet Shortcut in HubSpot iOS App (Ticket Notes)

SOLVE

Dear HubSpot Support Team,

Our team uses HubSpot extensively, and Snippets are a critical tool for logging Notes and Activities on Tickets, essential for maintaining efficiency and consistency. We are high-frequency users of this feature.

We've identified a significant pain point regarding the Snippet functionality on the HubSpot iOS App (iPhone/iPad):

  • Android App Efficiency: On Android, users can simply type the # symbol followed by the snippet shortcut directly in the text editor (Notes/Log Activity) to instantly populate the text. This is a huge time-saver.

  • iOS App Inefficiency: On iOS, this # shortcut does not work. Our team is forced to use less efficient methods:

    1. Switch Keyboards: Constantly switching to the HubSpot mobile keyboard (which disrupts the flow).

    2. Use In-App Icon: Clicking the Snippet icon on the toolbar and then selecting the snippet (which adds multiple clicks to every insertion).

Given that a large portion of our team uses iOS devices and relies heavily on Snippets, this gap in functionality significantly slows down our mobile workflow.

Our Core Request is Simple:

We urgently request that HubSpot implement the Android-like # shortcut functionality within the text editor of the HubSpot iOS App (for Ticket Notes and Activities).

Could you please provide an update on the following:

  1. Is there a current roadmap or ETA for bringing the # shortcut feature to the HubSpot iOS App?

  2. Are there any less-obvious, high-efficiency workarounds available for iOS users to quickly insert personalized Snippets without having to switch their system keyboard?

Thank you for addressing this critical feature request. Implementing this consistency across platforms would be a massive boost to our team's mobile productivity.

Sincerely,

PriooCare

Urgent Feature Request: Enable "#" Snippet Shortcut in HubSpot iOS App (Ticket Notes)

SOLVE

Hi @Prioocare,

The best place for these kinds of requests is the ideas section of the community, monitored by the product team ideas.

Sharing the Idea here for visibility:
"Urgent: Request for # Snippet Shortcut Support in HubSpot iOS App"

Generally however, I would not hold my breath until you get an answer. It might take a while, depending on how popular your request gets in terms of upvotes. Once posted, if you have a customer success manager or account manager at HubSpot (Professional or Enterprise customers), share it with them.

HubSpot does generally not commit on release dates so it's unlikely that will happen here, unfortunately. Don't shoot the messenger.

Thanks for the tag @BérangèreL. +1 for what @karstenkoehler mentioned. Other than that, if it's a critical issue @Prioocare as you describe, could each of your team members create the Snippets in their own iOS device as a keyboard shortcut to use? I do that personally, but it's the best case workaround that comes to mind until it's a core function HubSpot can add.

Urgent Feature Request: Enable "#" Snippet Shortcut in HubSpot iOS App (Ticket Notes)

SOLVE

We understand that, at present, triggering a Snippet by simply typing # in the note editor is not natively supported on the iOS app, and that achieving feature parity with Android will require a future product update.

As our team relies heavily on Snippets for day-to-day operations, the need to constantly switch to the HubSpot Keyboard or manually tap the in-app Snippet icon presents a significant challenge to our efficiency on mobile.

Could you kindly advise if there are any current workarounds or recommended solutions that could help streamline this process in the meantime?

Hi @Prioocare,

Thank you for raising this feature request and clearly explaining your team’s workflow challenges on iOS.

I definitely understand how much seamless Snippet access matters for efficiency, especially when your daily operations depend on quick, consistent communication.

Currently, as you mentioned, triggering Snippets via the "#" shortcut is not supported in the HubSpot iOS app.

I see that you went ahead and created an Idea (thanks for the suggestion @karstenkoehler), thanks so much for that, I have added my upvote and I will share it here so that other Community Members can vote for it as well: "Urgent: Request for # Snippet Shortcut Support in HubSpot iOS App".

Now, let's check with our Top Experts to see if they can think of alternatives: Hi @danmoyle@Lucila-Andimol and @josh do you have suggestions to help @Prioocare, please?

Have a wonderful day and thanks so much!
