Upcoming birthday report and workflow

Hi 🙂 

We have a date field on the contact called birthday. We want to calculate the next upcoming birthday for each contact and show those in a report.

Have not found a way to do this. Calculated fields do not work, workflows do not work. Any ideas? We want to try doing this inside Hubspot. If not possible we will use the API and have it calculated outside.

This solution doesn't work. The Active list only shows birthdays if the birth year is set to the current year. For the Active list to work, you must make someone's birth year 2022. If you use their actual birth year, it does not work. Since it would take incredible work to update the birth year to the current year every year, this solution is not viable.

one follow-up @Josh: how to make this work on the original birthday date (like 2. April 1974)? Then we would need a workflow to calculate the next upcoming birthday?

Hi @CMayer,

Yes...that does bring up an issue. I don't believe HubSpot can set a property in the future from a workflow. However, you could use this approach to set a property called "Next Birthday" and have that recur annually. Unfortunately, you'd be bringing Zapier into the mix. If someone has a workaround to date stamp something for the future or a DD/MM date, I'd love to hear it!

Hi @CMayer,

Would an active list work? In the example below, I used 30 days. If you're working with a larger list size, you might want to decrease that to 14 days or something shorter. You could combine this list with other filters as well and create a report from it that you could add to a dashboard.

Are you hoping to see the number of days until each contact's next birthday? Or are you hoping to see a list that shows the next 5 contacts with birthdays? (or something like that)
