Unique contact based on phone number instead of email id

Hello Experts, 

I am new to Hubspot.  

Our E-commerce application and other applications use customer phone number as unique identifier but in Hubspot free version I see email id as Customer unique identification. 

Can we change it to a 10 digit phone number instead of email id?

It's the limitation of HubSpot. That's why HubSpot is not suitable for B2C. HubSpot should be change this point because of B2C, consumer use mobile phone instead of email in purchasing transactions

Ye, our IT have advised us to switch platfrorm. They're not going to change their data structure, so we need to find a supplier that allows unique ID to be user defined.

I'd recommend upvoting these ideas, and also commenting them with your use cases. You can also subscribe to the idea (Options > Subscribe) to get notified if the status changes. This is the best place to give feedback to the Product Team as they regularly monitor the space.

@Srinivasthota1 You cannot change the unique identifier from email to phone number. Everything is based on an email from a HubSpot technical standpoint. 

You can always manage HubSpot using a custom ID for each customer with a custom property.

Seems that more people are asking for this. It seems like email as primary ID is an outdated method. There is one topic with 35 upvotes now. They really need to get on the case.
