Understanding the Industry property.

I was interested in understanding how HubSpot's Industry property works for companies.

Looking at how it decides which sector a domain fits into and if I was to manually change the property, would it revert back to its original value?

Hi @ConnorMcM,

You're probably referring to HubSpot Insights? HubSpot gathers this company information by combining third party data, web crawling, and crowdsourcing. That's all that Hubspot says about this, the rest is unfortunately a black box.

If you delete a value previously populated by HubSpot Insights, HubSpot will respect your choice and not fill that field again:

Ah yes, I was referring to HubSpot Insights without realising haha.
