Understanding access to Company

SOLVE

Hi,

Kindly let me know if this understanding scenario is correct or not-

Consider a Company A created by Owner/user X.

Another Company B created by Owner/user Y.

User X belongs to Team ABC

User Y belongs to Team XYZ

Owner X will be able to view all the details of Company A where as he will not be able to view details of company B. Same for Owner Y, he will not able to view other company details.

Owner X belongs to team ABC, so team ABC is able to view companies created by Owner X. But once X is removed from Team ABC, then team ABC is not able to view companies created by Owner X.

Team XYZ will be able to view company A if it is present in shared teams of company A.

Kindly confirm if this understanding is correct or not

whether user will be restricted to view the company information. And let me know if there are any other scenarios If I am missing. If yes, Can we have a quick call with Hubspot support team.

Thanks!

Hi @GHubspot,

This depends entirely on what permissions exactly you have assigned to these users: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/user-management/manage-user-permissions

It sounds like you're referring to a scenario where both users have team only view permissions. If so, what you're describing is correct:

  • The team that user A is currently in will be able to see user A's assigned records if the team has team-only view permissions.
  • The moment user A leaves the team, the team will not be able to view those records anymore.
  • If user A moves into another team, the new team will be able to see user A's assigned records if the team also has team-only view permissions.

I'm not sure what you mean here:

... but I think it's covered by what I described above.

Hi @karstenkoehler ,
Any insights on this?
I totally agree with you with the above scenario explained. I want to retrieve all these information using RestAPIs.
Can you let me know how to retrieve permissions and role names via Rest API?
Is it possible to have a quick call?

Thanks!

@GHubspot I'd recommend starting a new thread in the developer section of the community, this goes beyond my expertise unfortunately.
