Two Brands De-Duplication

Hi there! We are HubSpot customers that currently have all of our data for leads saved under one account. However, we have an unique situation where we have two brands that live under the same company, so we work the leads as the same, but with different faces for the brands.

 

Further, we are going to have our CDP connect to HubSpot's CRM API to send data up. With that being said, there will be times where we will have two of the same lead under the two different brands. We need to treat these leads as separate.

 

Is there a way to change the unique idenfiying factors in HubSpot, besides by e-mail address? As our two leads may have the same e-mail address, but two different brand identifiers.

A solution would be to create a "leads" custom object and inject this information into that instead of the Contacts object.

Hi @MStagen - it might work, but I need a bit more information:

  • How are you getting the LinkedIn URL into the contact record?
  • Is there anyway that there will be an email address occuring twice?
  • If you do find a matching LinkedIn URL what must happen?
  • Is there any human intervention to check to see if it is a match?

@darynsmith we have a somewhat related problem in that we are trying to de-dup our HubSpot database using a contacts' unique LinkedIn URL.  Would your solution work for our situation as well?
