Tracking lead sources and campaign sources

SOLVE

Hello,

I come from a background using Salesforce and recently joined a new company that utilizes Hubspots CRM. Does any one have any recommendations on the best way to track lead sources and campaigns similar to how you do in Salesforce. From a basic reporting standpoint I want to see what "campaigns" a lead engaged in along their journey.

You have two properties to store that information that you can find in the Web Analytics History section

First touch converting campaign

The campaign responsible for the first touch creation of this contact

Last touch converting campaign

The campaign responsible for the last touch creation of this contact

These properties are not shown on contact records by default but you can add them like this:

Tracking lead sources and campaign sources

Hi @kgabriel,

I wanted to share a few resources regarding this matter.

1. Managing salesforce campaigns in HubSpot

2. Salesforce campaigns in HubSpot with some tips from @bradmin

3. Salesforce campaigns

4. Lead management in HubSpot (academy certification)

cc @louischausse@darynsmith if you have any suggestions for @kgabriel.

Thank you,
Jenny

Hey @kgabriel !

If you have the marketing Hub Basic, Pro or Enterprise you could use the campaign tool:

https://knowledge.hubspot.com/campaigns/create-campaigns

It will give you the opportunity to associate every marketing asset to it (email, pages, blog posts, social media posts, ads, etc.) and see the stats:

https://www.hubspot.com/running-a-campaign-in-hubspot

If you don't have the marketing Hub, you can always report on the sources property for each contact:

Thanks for your input. Do you know if campaign reporting is used in the ROI reporting in Hubspot.

We use the Hubspot CRM/Sales Hub as well, so I am trying to get figure out the closest thing to campaigns in SFDC in Hubspot.

For example, I would love to be able to have a campaign field and fill it up with event tracking, webinar tracking, see what resources were downloaded etc.  In salesforce this used to be done through setting a SFDC campaign and member status. What is similar to that in Hubspot?

Hi @kgabriel

In fact the campaign tool that I pointed out in my other post does exactly that but is, in my opinion, event better than the SFDC campaigns.

Take a look at the resources that I pointed out, and if you still have question do not hesitate to ping me and we could hop on a video call so I can show you how it works.

Best,

I am going to use campaigns, but how do you see these on a lead record.

Ie if John Smith comes in with a lead source of live event and campaign is tagged dreamforce (for the event). How would you see the campaign as a contact property?
