Tracking funds in a deal

In each Deal, I need to track and update how much available funds are remaining, across several catagories.

 

For example:

Category 1 | $1,000 aggregate | $300 used | $700 remaining

Category 2 | $500 aggregate | $0 used | $500 remaining

 

Is there a smarter way of tracking this inside a deal? My only thought so far is to have a note on each deal that is editted every time funds are used.

Hi, 

 

You could create some custom fields for  

A)Deal Aggregate
B) Deal Amount Used

 

Then have a calculated field of Deal Amount Remaining. Which equals A-B -  Then all you need to do is update the Deal amount used property.
