Tracking deal stage totals against targets

SOLVE

Hi all,

I'm hoping for some help please. We set up deals to our customers, but want a notification when someone specifically opens the deal. At the moment we get "someone has opened an email" or "someone has opened a deal" we want to know who has opened it - how do you correctly set this tracking in HubSpot

Many thanks

Vicky

Hi @VickyRussell

@MFrankJohnson has provided some great knowledge here.

In regards to getting self open notifications, you can follow the steps outlined here to address those. If you are emailing multiple recipients within one email, however, it is expected for the notifcation to say "someone" as the same tracking pixel is associated with all email recipients.

Thank you,
Jenny

>>"someone has opened a deal"

Meaning, someone has CREATED a deal?

Sorry @VickyRussell, we're confused. Normally, clients do not have access to your CRM. How are they even seeing deals?

If you've given your clients access to your CRM and you're sending them a one-to-one email with a LINK to a deal, those links are trackable by HubSpot. In other words, you'll be notified when recipients click on that deal link if your inbox is connected to HubSpot.

If you've managed to send them HubSpot marketing (one-to-many) emails, that's a different conversation entirely.

What type of email? Do they have access to your CRM?

A HubSpot screenshot of the email could be very helpful.

You've completely misunderstood what I am asking.

We are monitoring deals in HubSpot, attaching quotes to those deals and emailing them to the contact the deal is set up for.

We would like to know what setting we need so when that person opens the email we are notified. At the moment we get a notification that says "someone opened" but have worked out this relates to our staff here opening the pdf we have in our server.

I hope that is clearer to understand.

- see 'Someone' notification in HubSpot Sales email extension

Perhaps the HubSpot team can be more helpful by looking at what you're doing.
