Total Amount of Contacts in HubSpot from Month to Month

SHinojosa3

Hi everyone,

I would like to see if there is a way to see total amount of contacts in our HubSPot account from month to month. I am only seeing a way to see the amount of contacts 'created' month to month. We have the Legacy account, so we dont have access to the reports on Marketing Contacts. Thanks for your help.

Hi @SHinojosa3,

This can be achieved with a simple single object report under Menu > Reports > Reports > Create report > Single object > Contacts.

Under Filters in the top left corner, make sure the Create date filter is set to all time.

In the Visualization tab, drag and drop the Count of contacts and the Create date into the Displaying area.

Lastly, choose a line chart visualization, select a Frequency you like from the dropdown (errors occur when the frequency is too high for too large an amount of data) and set Display options to Cumulative, if you like.

It should look like this:

@karstenkoehler The above shows the number of contacts created each month, not the total number of contacts in the database month to month, right?

Thank you, Karsten. We delete loads of spammy contacts that come from integrations and imports, so we need to know the actual growth. But when I think about it, I actually understand how it can be impossible to know how many contacts we had in a given month, because the number fluctuates from minute to minute.

Is there any way to know how many contacts were deleted and when?

@AnnaStanuch for 90 days you can check the bin: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/restore-deleted-records

For any timeframe longer than that, within HubSpot, no.

@AnnaStanuch the report shows the contact database growth over time, by contact create date - starting with 0 in the bottom left corner and the current count in the upper left. So in that sense, it shows you the size of your database at any time. The only thing it does not account for are deletions which don't appear at all.
