Sorting a contact view by two columns

I would like to sort two columns, in Contact view.  One by Company name (bespoke property) and then by surname.  Like you can do this in Excel, can you do it in Hubspot

Yeah, this one tripped me up too when I first switched to HubSpot. Quick q: is your Company name a custom property or pulled from the associated Company object? HubSpot only lets you sort by one column at a time, so here’s what I usually do: Export the contact list with both fields (Company and Last name) Sort in Excel the way you want; Company first, then Last name If I need to act on that sorted list inside HubSpot, I add a temporary custom property like “Sort Batch A” and re-import Not ideal, but it works when you need a fast multi-level sort 🙂

Hello @JGray30 ,

At the moment, HubSpot only allows sorting by one column at a time in contact views. Unlike Excel, multi-level sorting (e.g., by Company and then Last Name) isn’t natively supported in the UI.

A simple workaround is to export the list to Excel or Google Sheets and sort it there.

As @karstenkoehler mentioned, you can also upvote the existing idea in the HubSpot Community to help push for this feature.
