I added a Company Property - called "Number of locations" Then for CompanyX, I added 44 as the "Number of locations" I then have 10 contacts at CompanyX
How can I show that "Number of locations" Company Property on the Contact property list and/or when I export it?
I want to avoid having to create "Number of Locations" as a Contact Property because then presumably I would have to enter the Number of locations for each contact AND if the number of locations changed from 44 to 75, I would have to update all 10 contacts. vs. just updating the Company Property once. But I need to be able to see the "Number of Locations" on the Contact list

Showing Companies field on contact lists
SOLVE
We can't co-mingle contact properties AND company properties in a Contact view. HubSpot doesn't work like that.
Step-by-Step
-1- Create a Contact property -- e.g., "Number of Locations" (same type as the Company property). -2- Setup a workflow to copy the Company property to all associated Contact properties whenever updated (within the past 1 day)
OR
2022 update (using the custom report builder) ...
Build a cross-object (contacts and companies) table report showing the properties you'd like to see for both contacts and companies!
Note: Please search for recent posts as HubSpot evolves to be the #1 CRM platform of choice world-wide.
If you can show the associated company in a view, it's one additional step to show the company property from the associated company. This would be helpful for data cleanliness and maintaining a single source of truth.
Frustrating, I have a similar requirement. (I want to show a "customer type - ie lapsed/current" on a contact list.) It's irritating that HubSpot doesn't work like that, as you say Frank... but it IS the way that all relational databases work at their heart...

Hi Frank - Showing associated company fields on a contact list is such an obvious need, I am simply amazed that Hubspot can't do that. i've been using Hubspot for a week and already run into this during initial setup. As the primary company is associated with the contact, I would assume that fields for that primary company could be added, but no. There are so many obvious uses for this - a Company's industry for e.g., so you can set which industry the contacts work in. The main company phone number, etc., etc.
A bit more.... asking community to upvote product ideas isn't a good idea. I don't care how many people upvote this, it just is a missing piece of your system that I need to find a workaround for.
Yeah Frank, how about this: I simply want to see when a company was recently invoiced so I don't do a weekly follow up with that company's contact.
If I could see a column view of that company property in my contacts view, this would greatly help.
I don't understand what setting up a workflow to copy even means. I'm simply using a technology tool for my job but I am not tech saavy and this would be so simple to be able to edit my colums in my contact view to add a company property column.
Would make my simple non techie brain be very happy instead of very frustrated.
