Shorter Delay Options for Sequences Steps - Multiple Steps on same day

SOLVE

We have a Sales Process that calls for multiple steps in one day. For example, a Follow Up Call followed immediately by Follow Up Email if there is no answer.

It seems Sequences only allow us to space email steps out with a minimum of one day delay. Allowing less time than a day would be helpful.

Thanks for your direction here @willsmith. Unfortunately, no, this does not resolve the issue.

We are looking to assign a task for reps to make a phone call and leave a voicemail indicating they will follow up via email with more information. Only then if a voicemail was left do we want them to send the email.

Seems the best solution here would be for us to create a task to leave a VM followed by a task to send an email. Because not all leads will need this follow up email, it is probably best to require they create and send the email in realtime instead of trying to automate it.

You found a workaround for tasks.

However, I would need to have multiple steps in one day for emails as I would need to send a follow-up email in less than a day.
@willsmith your idea just works out for tasks and not emails.

How can we send in HubSpot a sales email spaced minutes apart from the previous?

Best,

As @Jon_Sasala points out - workflows may be best for follow-up emails that need to be sent in less than a day. To me, it seems that the purpose of sequences is to have the recipient respond to the email with a reply or by setting up a meeting using the meeting links. Sending multiple emails in less than a day would be better suited for a workflow.
If multiple "email sends in a day using sequences" hasn't been suggested yet as an idea, head over to the ideas forum and suggest it.

Hi @Jon_Sasala

I'm not sure if this is too fast for your process, but, if you want a task to happen immediately after an email was sent, choose Don't Delay this Step when building your sequence.

HubSpot outlines this process in this knowledge article

I'd be interested to know if you would need something hourly. Since that is not an option, maybe head over to the community ideas forum and suggest it.

Thanks!

I hope this helps.

Have you looked instead at leveraging workflow for this? Since delays can get down to the minute if need and you should be able to leverage activity type properties.

The only downside is you won't have the process be able to stop easily if someone replies to an email like you can in a sequence.

You could leverage Task Status - Completed, and the specific type of task related to an account to dig into this. This could be done with auto or manual enrollment depending on how you want to handle this.

That is exactly the route we've pursued.

Rather than using the sequence step of sending an email we've decided setting a task to send an email if a voicemail was left was a better step. This revealed an additional shortfall of sequences. You do not have the ability to include details in the tasks being created in sequences. Workflows, on the other hand, allow you to add more than just a title, assignee and type. For phone call tasks we have specific scripts reps need to follow when leaving that first voicemail. Workflows allow us to include the script in the task.

Opting leads out of the workflow is being achieved with lifecycle stage goals in the workflow.
