Sequence tasks do not associate with company record

When you enroll a contact into a Sequence the task it generates do no associate with the company.  As a result, you cannot sort by company and are forced to follow up sequences by "task name" which are all mostly the same so there is no reason to sort.  Not linking these task to a company was a bone head move.  What is the planned fix? Do you folks have any alternative approaches to move past this ill thought out approach?

Yes, this is a missing piece of functionality regarding tasks raised by sequences. When you create a task from Sales > tasks, you have all the association options, but from a sequence, just the contact. We would like to be able to see associated company. The use case is that our team might have tasks for multiple contacts at the same company, and they only want to call one person at that company per day - not young them. For now, the workaround is to personalise the task name with "[Company name] Call for follow up" - but that does make the task name longer than necessary.

Sequence tasks do not associate with company record

Hi @CAwbrey,

Thank you for your feedback, and for reaching out.

Those sequence tasks would not be expected to be able to associate with other associated objects, only with the contact, whereas when a task is manually created, the user can decide to associate the other records.

The best option would be to go back and manually associate the task with the company. I understand this is not ideal though!

There are people all over the comments on other threads talking about badly this is needed. Can you guys look at all those and decide it's been upvoted enough?

"Not ideal" is an understatement. This should be a standard feature and we should not have to "vote" to get this implemented when you clearly have the capability to include this in the manual task creation and in workflows.  🙄

So why even have a field for "Associated Company" on the task list?
