I am running into difficulties due to the way contact names are set-up.
Dutch surnames make use of tussenvoegsels and this affects forms, fields and sorting options. One of the problems we are running into is that the tussenvoegsel isn't shown on a contact record which leads to the mispronounciation of names of our clients, which frankly shouldn't happen. At the same time, adding the tussenvoegsel to the surname will result in conflicts within our database which feeds the Hubspot database and is dependent upon external systems which can not be changed to just the two name fields Hubspot uses.
example: Peter de Vries
Peter = first name , Vries = Surname , de = tussenvoegsel ( this part doesn't exist within the default contact name of Hubspot. As a workaround we've create a custom field, but that field isn't included within the NAME of a contact record)
result shows: Peter Vries
I'm sure we aren't the only dutch company running into trouble here, so I'm wondering what solutions people have thought out so far? (ofcourse, actually being able to activate/add this field to a contact name and Hubspot accomadating for an international userbase would be the prefered and logical solution)
Thanks for the tag @sharonlicari . This is indeed a common issue. I'll explain our most used solution in Dutch!
Groet,
Nynke
