Salesforce Email Sync

Since an email can be removed from Hubspot now, shouldn't the salesforce sync do the same thing when it is removed on the salesforce side? Right now, the sync just re-populates the email if it is removed in salesforce.

Salesforce Email Sync

Interesting - thanks. I would think the sync uses the Salesforce contact Id since Hubspot populates this as a read-only field on the contact. In any event, issues like this one make it difficult to maintain mirror images of both systems. It just doesn't seem realistic to always have the most up-to-date email address for every contact.

Salesforce Email Sync

Hi @MichaelH

Email address is used as the primary (and only, I think) deduplication field by the HubSpot Salesforce connector. As such, its essential/mandatory to have it mapped and contacts can not be synced correctly without an email address. Hence the email address being re-populate in your Salesforce instance. If you want to use a system to process and communicate with contacts without an email address, its advisable to use just one system/database so that syncing record isn't required.

Hope this helps.
