SQL to SAL conversion -> Q2 for baseline data

Hi, colleagues.

I. struggling to build the report based on the requirements below:

  • SQL to SAL conversion -> Q2 for baseline data

I have SQL as a property created and marked by YES or NO based on the criteria (Lead Scoring model), marked as YES if more than or equal to 5 scores, and Timing - decision will be made in the next 9 months, yes. I have SAL as a created property and marked manually YES or NO by the Head of Growth after reviewing a SQL via 1on1 and a date picker, SAL created date based on that, then the check box is checked. How to created the report below:

  • SQL to SAL conversion -> Q2 for baseline data?

I have separated KPI reports one under another, SQL Q2 and SAL Q2, but conversion is some mystery for me.

Thanks.

@ISmolin having those date properties doesn't change anything here unfortunately. Conversion rate reports only work with HubSpot's own stages and phases. You would have to use lifecycle stages to achieve this particular report. If you stick with your custom properties, you would have to report on this outside if HubSpot.

Edit: Nevermind, actually, I overlooked something simple. Create a pie chart of all contacts who have have ever had your SQL flag. Break it down by contacts who have your SAL flag. You will now see a slice of contacts that is the % of SQLs that have gotten the SAL flag. Filter the report by your SQL or SAL date to limit the date range.

Hi @ISmolin,

Conversion rate reports are easiest done in HubSpot through lifecycle stages. SQL and SAL are typical lifecycle stages so my recommendation would be to use HubSpot's default features for this: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/records/use-lifecycle-stages

Once you do this, you can build funnel and conversion rate reports: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/reports/create-new-custom-funnel-reports

This is the main way to get conversion rates in HubSpot and there is no other option I'm aware of that would get you conversions from one property to another – one of the reasons being that HubSpot automatically maintains lifecycle stage date properties which are referenced in conversion rate reports.

Hi @ISmolin

Is there any particular reason why you are not using lifecycle stages for this? Lifecycle stages come with additional date entered [stage name] which is giving you a time dimension.

Having yes/no check boxes is a rather strange and convoluted way of doing this and unless you start time stamping when these check boxes are marked you won't have a time dimension.

You could of course use your checkboxes as WF triggers to then set the corresponding lifecycle stage.

I use date pickers property that I created for each of those 2 properties: SAL and SQL created dates using workflows that mark it as yes either then the criteria matched for SQL or then the checkbox checked for SAL. Thanks

Thank you @karstenkoehler  I appreciate your support. I see where it comes from. I think we can create additional lifecycle stage as SAL and using the workflow that will move a lifecycle stage of the contact to SQL if lead has SQL checkbox yes and do the same for the contacts using a different workflow that will pick the data from a lead and if it is a SAL move the contatcs's lifecycle stage to SAL. The reason why we started using it like this is a lack of experience on my end, I believe, and confusion having leads created from company and contact level, + no understanding about lifecycle stages at that point. Thank you so much for the clarification!
