Reinstate a GDPR deleted contact

Seekign techincal help.

A contact was deleted from our contacts list a while back under the GDPR permanent deletion. They wishe to receive comms and I need to add the email address back in. The system wont let me. Is there a workaround? Can I set-up an opt-in email?

Thanks for reaching out! 

In cases where the contact was GDPR deleted, we do not have a way to restore them - this functionality exists to comply with GDPR regulations. Even in a case where a contact was "accidentally" deleted this way, we cannot formally restore the contact.

From here, the only way to recreate the contact would be for it to be created via form submissions. In this case, the contact can either submit a form on your website or one of the users in your account would need to submit a form with the user's email address to recreate them in your CRM.
