Random people I email end up as Mailchimp subscribers

Hi, I have begun using Hubspot and wanted to try using PieSync to link it up with Mailchimp. I noticed that it pulled a bunch of Hubspot contacts into Mailchimp as "subscribed", when in fact these are just some people (e.g., prospects) I had emailed and whose email addresses got added to hubspot automatically. How can I set this up so that everyone I send an email to doesn't end up subscribed to my newsletter? (and, as I add 20 team members, can I set the default to "don't log emails" so we don't get random contacts added to hubspot?) Thank you!

Hi @SteveTFG ,

Based on the description, it seems like your PieSync settings need some changes to prevent all HubSpot contacts from syncing over to Mailchimp. You can easily do this by going to your PieSync connection between HubSpot and Mailchimp and edit the filtering rules. Here you can find some more information on HubSpot and Mailchimp specifically.

I assume you only want to sync contacts to Mailchimp if they match some conditions? You can recreate these conditions in PieSync to make sure only those contacts sync over to Mailchimp. Or if you are already using a list in HubSpot to filter, simple select that list in PieSync too.
