I have been trying to figure out the same thing. Doesn't look like any of the reports are customizable this way. I am starting to think I will need to create a workflow that will auto populate a company property created for each item in the product library (which seems so duplicitive). I know the product library is relatively new module so perhaps the filtering off of it is just not there yet. Or maybe I'm missing something too.

I really need to be able to pull reports based on clients who purchased specific products. I assume this is coming, as the module is new. I'm still adding products to each deal with the hope that I'll be able to create filters, lists, and workflows someday. Otherwise, the module is not of much use to us.

I've been tricked too. Now I enter all the products for every deal like a good data **bleep** but I don't get anything out of it. This feature was absolutely needed as it is more than basic for a CRM but turned out to be half-baked when released. How do you actually get any value out of it if you cannot report on it?
So currently doing double work also entering a custom field but if a customer orders several products it gets really tricky.

Has HubSpot replied to anyone regarding this - we MUST be able to report against products. It is a good idea, but causing a lot of work to report against now. When will this feature be available?

No HubSpot replies that I've seen - there's another thread that is also not seeing any feedback: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/HubSpot-Ideas/Better-reporting-for-Products/idi-p/36956
The one HubSpot moderator comment there is: "If there is progress on this a member of the product team will comment"
When the Product library was introduced, we eagerly adopted it and abandoned the custom properties we'd been using on deals. Lesson learned. Months later, we're no closer to having a clue as to any meaningful data.
I can't tell what's being sold by our Sales Reps vs account reps (much less which specific rep), whether it's transactional or subscription based, how many products are included in a deal.
Pretty difficult to run a sales operation without being able to customize this type of reporting. And the two current canned reports provide no value without any of this customization.
I've been hearing for months that improvements on this were coming...
Meanwhile, I'm getting hammered for not being able to provide these insights.

I just upgraded our account to Sales Professional to get access to the product feature. Now that I've got the products setup and entered on the deals I can't pull any report and actually use the data - I feel like I've been robbed.

Ya, I agree. This feature is VERY misleading. Been doing a lot of socializing internally as to the benefits of this feature, but we can't do ANY forecast reporting using the data, so now I need to backtrack to the team.

Hey Pat -
Are you trying trying to report on product line items with HubSpot CRM? I'm the COO at Rekener, and our app, Sales Rep Scorecards, syncs automatically with HubSpot and allows you to create significantly more advanced reports than you can in HubSpot -- including reporting on products by rep, by account, etc. We are a HubSpot Connect partner.
Here's a recent review from one of our customers who just solved this problem using Sales Rep Scorecards.
Let me know if you'd be interested in checking it out!
All the best,

I'm shocked that simple reporting on product sales doesn't exist too. I need reports that list the sales of specific products. Like the rest of folks commenting here, I need to see product sales by sales rep too. But, I also need reports showing which contacts have bought a certain product. This is key in a B2B environment where we're tracking which customers and which companies (aka Account-Based Mktg) are buying a product we're making a push on. For example, I need to be able to show which contacts at which of our key target ABM accounts have bought a ticket for an upcoming training event in February. This is crucial to allow Sales to target those who've bought already to sell deeper into...or know which key ABM accounts haven't bought yet to push those.

I've been holding everyone in the team back on this, saying it'll come, give it time. It's still not here, it seems like such a basic requirement, I just assumed that it would be coming soon.
We can't even filter our pipelines by product! It's mad.

It's now possible to create reports and dashboards with product performance. I've also been able to define lists with contacts that have purchased a specific product for further marketing activities.

You should be also if it hasn't been mentioned to create cross object reports in the reporting tool.
Leveraging Deals + Products. Then you can leverage status information to determine if you are looking at Closed Won deals versus pipeline specific items.

Thanks, @JaxOnTheBeach, I've got a product dashboard set-up, but it's still clunky. Because it's using cross reporting to show product and place in the pipeline, or product by the company industry etc., it limits the filtering abilities of the dashboard.
Then the filtering on actual deal boards as well, not being able to filter a pipeline by product seems crazy.
I know there are some workarounds the reporting stuff, it just still seems a bit clunky. Do you agree? Or am I being picky?

Hi Jax, I'm pretty new to Hubspot as a small business trying to up our game. We supply to hardware items to retailers, and during the current climate, we are facing large stock shortages. I'd like to be able to create a list of companies that have purchased a specific product during a specific time period, so that our Sales Team can target those companies when it comes back into stock again. How would I go about creating a report that shows Companies that have purchased a specific product in the last 6 months?

If you go to Contacts-Lists and define an active list that meets your selection criteria, then you'll have a great tool for your sales people. Assuming that you relate your contacts to deals, then you can create a list by week/month or a list without time limits and then create a report that will use your list as initial segmentation and then filter in the report. You can also use lists to track people on your website that view a product and would like to buy it when you're out of stock.
