Prevent lifecycle stage change if fields are empty

SOLVE

Hey there,

What I'm currently trying to achieve is that when Sales reps are handling calls with leads, they often change the MQL stage into SQL. And once MQL becomes SQL - several fields should be filled out for custom reports to work properly.

Is it possible to set a rule that, for example, a user can not change the lifecycle stage if some fields are empty or contain some specific values?

Thanks

Hi @ICherednichen

Although you can configure properties that have to be completed when deal stages are changed (Edit deal stages and deal stage properties ), the sames can not be done for lifecycle stage at this time.

There are two things you could try to achieve your desired outcome:

  1. Use workflows to create tasks for contact owners when lifecycle stage changes to certian stages. These tasks can remind/insist that the owner populates other required information
  2. If you have Enterprise, you could change permissions on the lifecycle stage property so that it can not be edited directly (Restrict edit access for properties) and create workflows to move it forward automatically when other conditions are met.

Hope this helps.

The requested feature "configure properties that have to be completed lifecycle stage are changed" would really be helpful!
