Parsing email content into crm

SOLVE

I have a situation where leads are sent from a third party vendor via email. I want to be able to parse the contents of the email (which is the lead informaiton) and create a contact in HubSpot.

How can this be done?

Please see screenshot below of the email example.

Hi @dwang83

Take a look at this thread: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/CRM/How-to-have-my-sales-lead-vendor-update-my-HubSpot-contact/m-p/... (note Jenny's comment)

Mailparser.io and Zapier can help you parse email content and pass it to Hubspot.

Parsing email content into crm

Hi @juliablkdg

Thank you for reaching out! This thread was archived but @MatthewShepherd reply was the following:

  • Hi
Yes, this is something we have set up for our Hubspot clients before.

There are likely a few ways to achieve this:

You could give them a very limited access Hubspot user account and have them import contacts in bulk or add contacts individually.

If you don't want to provide such access or want something more automated, something we have done before is to send contact properties sent in a structured format (XML) in a plain text email to a Mailparser.io inbox (Zapier also has an email parser built-in but is not as robust as Mailparser). Mailparser grabs the contact properties which it then passes to Zapier.com which creates a contact.

Then @jennysowyrda just added a reminder that emailing purchasing lists (if this is the case) is against HubSpot's acceptable use policy

Hope that helps.
Have a lovely day,
Tiphaine.

Thank you! Appreciate that. Ours has nothing to do with purchased lists but good reminder for the thread!

Not really an answer. I thought part of the HubSpot integration with GMail would eliminate a lot of this drag and drop/copy paste one by one.

When we get an order from a shopping cart, all of the contact's information and order is loaded into an email and sent to us. That is the richest document as far as customer content. It contains all the customer relationship information. My shopping cart will only generate a customer report list, but doesn't drill down into what was purchased. The report that lists what was purchased only gives the dollar amount, not the product. Here I am again with a lot of data that needs to somehow get into our crm.

Not a purchased list. I am parsing emails that reflect what a customer has purchased.
