Opt out contacts and map subscription type

SOLVE

Hello Community,

I want to upload an opt out list but I need to map these contacts to a specific subscription type. I dont want to unsub them from all subscription types. Is this possible to set as an option before importing?

Opt out contacts and map subscription type

Hi @AprilG,

No, during import you can only specify a full opt-out: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/import-an-opt-out-list

If you want to import contacts and opt them out of a specific subscription type, then you would have to import them first as you always do and then bulk update their opt status by following these steps: https://knowledge.hubspot.com/contacts/manage-your-subscription-preferences-and-types#update-subscri...

If you have any workflows that trigger automatically for newly create contacts, either pause them or make sure they're excluding your import (e.g. by adding a custom property / column "Do not enroll in workflows").
