Newbie with a deal question

Hi I am new and have a free account.

I am trying to take a contact to the deal stage but when I do, the previous logged email he sent us disappears. It seems that his correspondence should follow him from a contact to a deal.

I go to the contact and create a deal or create a deal and add a contact, but I get the same problem.

What am I missing?

Hi @TShanks  the email should not disappear, it should remain connected to the contact at all times.  There should be a checkbox to add correspondence to the deal once created and it may even back date.  If you need the correspondence in the deal and it is missing, you could go back to the contact and to the individual items and associate with the deal.
