I've just opted in to the new navigation and overall I love the new structure - it has definately made the key pages / functionality easier to find.
But. I do have an issue with the UX of it.
As default it is fully expanded which means the page content is squashed needing multiple horizontal scroll bars to see the full colloum of content. - The obvious solution is to minimise this.
The problem with the minimised version is that on the slightest "roll over" it pops out to the full menu. Which is annoying when you accidently do it, but it's even more annoying if you want to go somewhere, because none of the "top level" menu items are "clickable". Which means on a minimised menu you roll over so it can expand, then you click on the icon to show the roll-out sub menu for you to selct the sub-item.
Wouldn't it be better if the menu was either expanded or minimised (by clicking a fixed icon at the bottom). If minimised it stays mimimised allowing the "roll over" to show the indervidual submenus. Meaning the first click can be the item you want?
I'm not sure why you needed to mess with the nav. When will you rewrite every hubspot support article so that the nav works? You've invalidated most of your content because the menus don't exist any more. Why was it important to you to make your cusotmer's lives difficult?
Agreed. The new navigation is not helpful at all. I'm a HubSpot partner/consultant and my clients have called out how much they dislike it. Don't understand why this was necessary when so many other things need to be fixed (see the FOUR YEAR OLD community request regarding sequence testing).
My team and I also dislike the new navigation. We are hoping they will either move things back to top or give the option to switch to the classic navigation as well.
I work with a number of clients and the new navigation definitely has had them stumped. I put together a video to navigate the new nav based on their user roles. Maybe it can help you?
I can find everything I need. Just had to click around a bit. My issue and those of my team is that it's more clicks instead of the ease of navigation right at the top as it was, the bar flying open when you are in a ticket or ticket view because your mouse hovered just a little too far, and if you have the new nav bar locked to stay open it takes up a huge amount of space on the left which shrinks your work area.
Agree with a lot of the sentiments here. More clicks to get where you need to go is not very efficient; clicking on the back to tickets you easily end up hovering over the new menue and it flys out at you and gets in the way! I do not like it at all. Why can't we get the font issue fixed or being able to order contacts within a ticket rather than spending time fixing things that aren't broken? Just say'in. 🙂
For me I prefer the old navigation. Speed is essential for me and being able to jump back and forth between companies, contacts, and deals with a single click was awesome. I can't figure out how to do that now and it's making my workflow more tedious.
totally going to take some getting used to, though still a beta so expect stuff to get tweaked. I think the bigger issue is I dont see a way to toggle back out of this beta, oops
Edit: found it, was not where I normally would look to toggle it off
