New Contact form, associate to company without making new contact the primary company contact

The defaults in Hubspot are restricting things so that if I want my Sales employees to create a new contact from the new contact form and add a company association (so I can ensure it's being linked to the right company) it will automatically and always make that new contact the primary contact for the company. How can I prevent new contact form entries from being listed as Primary for companies when I associate them?

New Contact form, associate to company without making new contact the primary company contact

Hi @JLethin

In this case, unfortunately this is not something that can be edited while it's an internal automated process and it's guided by some rules outlined here
A workaround for this could be the following:
1. Create a custom association level between contact and company that limits primary label - view documentation here.
2. Create a contact-based workflow that triggers by the form submission
3. Next step on the workflow would be to create associations
4. Enrolled object would be contact and object to associate company
5. Select the custom association label created and matching property values could be HubSpot Owner Email (Make sure that company and contact owner is the same always).

Hope this helps!
