Negative Line Items in a Deal

I am trying to migrate from SalesForce to HubSpot.  Our Opportunities have "Products" for Deal level discounts which are set at a negative $ amount.  The Line Items came over but all the negative items are empty and the total Deal amount is incorrect.  What can I do?

I think I figured out what to do.

If the “Sales Price” for a Salesforce Product is < 0, map the value as a positive number to the Hubspot Line Item “Unit Discount” field.

If the “Sales Price” for a Salesforce Product is >= 0, map the value to the Hubspot Line Item “Unit Price” field.

BUT, I can't figure out how to change the settings for the Unit Discount field in Hubspot.  Right now it is locked and set to %.  I need it unlocked and set to USD.

Hi @SLarsen10

Because HubSpot's default Unit Discount subject cannot be up to date (locked in percent), create a custom Discount in USD property for Line Items and map terrible Salesforce Sales Price values to fine numbers. For deal totals, create a custom adjusted deal for general assets and gadgets. Establish a workflow to extract reductions in USD from the rate × quantity aggregate of the, ensured accurate amount Do and address poor reductions.

Best regards!

Anyone else is looking for negative line items? We are implementing this in DepositFix and looking for a few people to test it out.

Yes, I would like the historic deals to be correct as we want to be able to understand each customer renewal and health.  And the discounts are all over the place.

I guess I could map total deal value rather than letting the system calculate.  I have to think about that.

I did the migration using TruJay.

Aah, Trujay is great. If you ask them, they might have a custom solution for that. Of course, it will come at a price, but it depends on how important the data is.

In the meantime, is it possible for you to download the Deal and product data from Salesforce anyway as a CSV export to see if their system will export the discount values. If so, it will be a tedious process depending on the number of records, but you can at least over time retrospectivelly update those, whilst to start with, you can update the totals for reporting purposes.

Will taht work?

Just to reduce confusion, Trujay has rebranded as SyncMatters, and our migration product is now called MigrateMyCRM. Same awesome product as before 😁

Hi, @SLarsen10 ,

Do you need the specific deal discounts to be transferred or is it more important to make sure that you have the correct final deal amount for the historic data? The reason I'm asking is because you can always re-upload the total deal value and update that, instead of letting the system calculate the deal value based on the products listed.

Of course, I'm sure that the discount data will be useful, however, if it's not essential for the historic records, maybe it's worth the shot.

Just to check though, what is the likelihood that the discount for all the deals you've had is the same? As if so, maybe you can create a product with that discount and then with a workflow to update the relevant records. If the discounts vary per deal (which, I guess, is more likely to be the case), that won't work.

It will be helpful, if you could share 5 lines of the Salesforce export file (or did you do it via the integration?) with annonymised data, just so I can see what deals have discounts and how that can potentially be uploaded in a way where Hubspot will respect the discounts.

I hope that helps,

Eli
