My form submissions keeps duplicating

SOLVE

Hello everyone

I am having issues with my form

 

Okay so I created a form where all the field are company field because I only want it to create a company record 

But when ever a client fill in the form it keeps creating duplicates even when the same client fill in the form with minor adjustment 

 

Is there a way to make sure that when a client comes back to fill in the form it just updates it with the already existing record

 

And also I created a workflow where anytime this form is submitted a company owner should be assigned but the workflow is not working 

 

Please I really need help with this

Hi @GDesigns,

 

Correct, this won't work with custom fields. It has to be the default Email field.

I haven't seen the workflow so I can't say for sure but it could be the reason, yes.

Yes I used the same email address but I created separate field for the email address because I didn't want it to go to contacts I just need the company field. So i created a single line text for the email 

 

Do I need to use the original email field for this to work?

Hi @GDesigns,

 

If your form does not have the default Email field, it wouldn't create records which means that there isn't anything to enroll into this workflow either – so that's very likely the issue, yes.

Hi @GDesigns,

 

Does your form have an Email field and are you resubmitting the form with the same email address? HubSpot automatically deduplicates by email address so if you're using the same email address, there shouldn't be multiple contact records.

 

If you're still experiencing this, could you share a screenshot of the duplicates that show the same email address?

 

Regarding your workflow, can you please share a screenshot of the workflow?
