Multiple Projects or Tagging Contacts in the CRM

Hi Hubspot CRM Community,

I'm trying to determine if you can define separate projects within the free CRM offering by either creating a separate grouping of companies and contacts in an explicit way or by tagging companies and contacts to create an implicit project.

For example:

We want to manage one project for 100 advertising agencies and the 1,000 contacts we have for them; we want to manage another project for 100 publishers and the 1,000 contacts we have for them.

Can we create one bucket / instance for advertising agencies and another for publishers and separately manage contacts, notes, emails, etc for each of the projects without commingling them?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi @bammai

Yes, you can create a Custom Company Property e.g. "Projects" with different values e.g. "Agencies", "Publishers", etc.

Then you can filter your you Company view to show only Companies with the Project property set to Agency. And you can save the filter so you can check it later.

It's going to more manual with the free version - in HubSpot Marketing Pro, Enterprise you can automatically copy Custom Properties between Companies and Contacts and automate actions based on the Propety change.

Technically they're still all in the same bucket... and in sub buckets.

Does that solve your challenge?
