Moving an email from one Contact to Another

Hi

 

I noticed that an email address is against the wrong Contact.  I copied and paste the email address.  Deleted from Contact "1".  I then went in to contact "2" and added the email address.  When I click save it states it alread exists.  How can I move this email address to the correct contact.  

 

Also some people share the same email address and Hubspot will not allow me to create the same email addres for two people

Thanks for reaching out to the Community! 

 

It is not possible to create two contacts with the same email address as HubSpot, the email address as a unique identifier. HubSpot deduplicates by email address.

 

I wanted to share this related thread regarding creating two contacts with the same email. @karstenkoehler shares some workarounds on how to create two contacts with the same email address in the thread I linked above. 

 

In regards to not being able to create a new contact with the email address, I would recommend clearing your cache (browser history) to see if this solves this issue. If this issue continues after clearing cache, I would recommend connecting with HubSpot Technical Support, as Support is included in your subscription and they will be able to provide real-time assistance for this matter, where you are able to share screenshots and further information about this.
