More user friendly way of creating main/sub deals?

Hi all,

We've set up a Deal object association in our portal, so that we can have a main and sub deal structure.

E.g. let's say you win a framework agreement deal (main deal) with a client, and you want to add multiple sub deals ongoing "below" the main deal.

Our only issue is that we feel the user interface is a little complicated, and that users might get confused.

I tried and it's basically 8 clicks just to add a new sub deal to a new main deal.

Maybe we're just spoiled, but could there be a workaround to make this a little smoother?

Thanks!

Hi @sunask,

I'd need to dig a little deeper on your sales process and buyers journey but could Sub-deals be automatically created using a workflow?

Thanks,

More user friendly way of creating main/sub deals?

Hi Matt, and thanks for reaching out!

The issue is not really about creating the deals, it's about the association (that needs to be done manually).

Sales people would:

  • First manually create main deals
  • Thereafter manually create several sub deals (as long as main deal contract period is valid)
  • Associate the sub deals to the main deal

An optimum user interface scenario would probably be just a simple dropdown property on the sub deals "Is this a sub deal" YES/NO - and than pick a main deal (if set to YES) in a pop-up or something. Not sure how that could work technically though.
