TL;DR: Even though the SMART CRM pricing page says it includes quotes, it does not unless you purchase a Commerce Hub Seat for every user who needs to generate a quote.
I wanted to make everyone aware of a misleading feature guide shown on the HubSpot SMART CRM product pricing page.
However, when you look at the SMART CRM features on the pricing page, it shows that the SMART CRM has access to Quotes when the more expensive Sales Hub seats do not even have access to this feature any more.
To understand why the pricing page included the Quotes feature in the SMART CRM, I went to the HubSpot Product & Services Catalog. As the definitive legal document outlining product features and limitations, and discovered that Quotes are in fact NOT included and do require the Commerce Hub Seat for anyone wishing to generate a quote:
If I were a new HubSpot customer and I self-purchased the SMART CRM Professional Seats for my team, I would feel very misled if they were not able to generate quotes.
I know a number of the HubSpot reps are confused about this, the partner resources have conflicting information, and it was only because I worked at HubSpot that I knew where to find the Product & Services Catalog to clarify this information.
My recommendation is to remove any reference to Quotes from the SMART CRM page to avoid confusion, or make it VERY clear that a Commerce Hub Seat is required. This will save a lot of pain down the line from rightfully confused self-purchasing customers.
